Parents and carers at primary schools in the Inverness area are being asked to complete an online form before next Monday.

The form will help Highland Council to understand the anticipated school roll for the new school at Ness Castle and Ness-side on its completion.

The form can be completed online at the council website and a paper copy can be requested from your school office.

Enrolment for Primary 1 and ELC will take place at the end of January and the beginning of February. Parents and carers who have a child due to start ELC or Primary 1 will be able to enrol for the new school at Ness Castle. Further details can also be found at the council website.

A spokesman said: "Successful completion of the form will also enable the school’s newly appointed head teacher, Craig Connon, to communicate and engage with the new school community.

"This includes engagement on important milestones for the school such as the school opening and the finalisation of the school’s name."

Officers are now working on staffing for the school and planning for the new session in August. For all pupils living in the catchment area for the new school, it is expected that all pupils in P5 and under will be moving into the new school to start the new school session after the summer holiday period.

Pupils who are currently in P6 may opt to remain at their current school to complete their final year.

The catchment secondary school for Ness Castle and Ness-side is Inverness Royal Academy.
