Fifteen new Covid cases reported in NHS Highland area

Fifteen new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the NHS Highland area over the past day, statistics released today state.

It brings to 4163 the total number of cases notified in the region.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland the number of cases in the NHS Grampian region rose by 44, from 12,734 to 12,778.

Across Scotland, a total of 584 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

A total of 9479 new tests that reported results gave a positive rate of 6.9 per cent.

Sadly, 7 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive were reported, with most register offices closed over the weekend.

Some 108 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19

1710 people are in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19

A total of 839,266 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 10,582 have received their second dose, according to the statistics released today.
