UHI has pledged to continue to support students during ongoing national strike action from lecturers.
Talks are supposed to resume next Monday in a bid to end an ongoing pay dispute.
College Employers Scotland say a fair offer of £1050 is still on the table for lecturers accept - pointing out that is has already been accepted by teachers, police officers and firefighters.
It also means lecturers in Scotland have the best pay and conditions than their peers elsewhere in Scotland, the organisation said.
Gavin Donoghue, director of College Employers Scotland, said: “On Tuesday evening the EIS-FELA formally requested a meeting of the NJNC on Monday of next week, and offered to cancel a proposed strike day in order to facilitate meaningful negotiation.
“College Employers Scotland welcomes this approach and formally accepted this request at the earliest opportunity on Wednesday morning.
“We look forward to engaging with EIS-FELA in a way which leads to a constructive and affordable resolution to this pay dispute.”
A UHI spokesperson said: "We continue to do all we can to support students impacted by disruption, and have provided alternative learning opportunities, where possible. We will continue to do all we can to support students and minimise disruption."
