The Highlands’ most fabulous fundraiser, Strictly Inverness, is never short of drama.

And things are hotting up in the dressing room with some line-up changes.

Sadly Lynn Stewart and dance partner Sunny MacDougall have had to drop out of the competition early.

This means Team Thursday will consist of just seven couples on the first night of the event in May, as always raising money for Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

As if that wasn’t enough, Meanwhile Highland Council clerical assistant Kris Crawford’s partner Joanne Macleod has also dropped out.

She is being replaced with Leonie Reid, a mother of three from Invergordon.

The engaged 32-year-old care assistant has a personal connection to Highland Hospice as it offered support to her nana Margaret Durrand during her final months.

Leonie said: “I’m taking part because the Highland Hospice is such an amazing charity which supports so many families around here, including mine.

“My nana Margaret Durrand was offered support during her final months.

“My nana loved to dance so I’m dancing in memory of her.

“I also want to show my kids that you can do anything you set your mind to.

“I’m quite a shy person until you get to know me so I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone for this one, but for a great cause.

“I was excited to get the opportunity to join in last minute when someone unfortunately had to drop out.”

Dance partner Kris is turning 30 this year and wanted to mark the big occasion by getting out of his comfort zone for the two causes.
