Trio from Blackpool, Manchester and Newcastle in court following Inverness city centre disturbance

Three men have appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court following a disturbance in the city centre at the weekend.

A man was taken to hospital afterwards and four men were arrested.

John Madine (38), from Blackpool, was charged with an assault to severe injury, two charges of assault to injury and one of threatening behaviour.

Joshua McCarthy (20), from Manchester, and Karl Hoxby (41), from Newcastle, faced charges of assault to severe injury and two of assault to injury.

All three men made no plea, were committed for further examination and released on bail.
