Emergency services were in attendance after a woman was struck by a car in the city centre.

The incident happened just after 3pm when she was hit by a vehicle as she was using Friar's Bridge pedestrian crossing on the east side of the river at Shore Street.

Friar's Bridge carries the A82 trunk road over the River Ness.

A police spokesman said: “Around 3.10pm on Thursday December 3, officers were called to the Shore Street area of Inverness, following a road crash involving a car and a female pedestrian.

"The woman was taken to hospital for treatment and the road was reopened at 3.45pm.”
