A 'disturbance' in an Inverness neighbourhood has sparked a response from police, fire crews and the ambulance service.

Police Scotland confirmed that it was called to an incident in the Muirtown Street area of Inverness at around 11.50am. An earlier update suggested it also affected nearby Kenneth Street.

"Emergency services are in attendance," said a police spokesperson.

An earlier post by police urged people to avoid the area and also revealed that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and the Scottish Ambulance Service were in attendance.

The SFRS confirmed that three of its appliances were sent to the scene after receiving a call at 12.02pm. They had no further details and said it was a police incident.

No further details were immediately available.
