A BUSINESSWOMAN who embezzled over £66,000 from an Inverness cleaning company in appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday hours after causing a disturbance at her boyfriend’s home.

Carly Flockhart admitted the fraud from WC Supplies in Harbour Road and sentence has been deferred to give her the opportunity to repay all of the money she stole from the business she partly owned.

On Monday she appeared from custody and admitted earlier the same day at an address in Glenurquhart Road behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm entering the property uninvited having being advised not to attend the house and shouting and screaming.

Depute fiscal Kelly Mitchell told Sheriff Margaret Neilson Flockhart (29) of Dores Road, Inverness had been out in town consuming alcohol with a gentleman she had been in an on-off relationship with and he returned home about 12.30am after they fell out. He sent her a text telling her not to come home and at 1.45am she arrived at the house and pushed past him to go inside and began shouting and screaming.

The fiscal said the man became alarmed and called the police.

Marc Dickson said the pair had been in a relationship for three years.

“They had an argument. He texted her telling her not to bother coming home.”

Mr Dickson said Flockhart wanted to collect her belongings.

She had no convictions of a similar nature.

She was ordered to carry out 50 hours of community service by Sheriff Neilson.

Flockhart spent £120,000 on a gambling website and this was part funded her habit by taking money from the business.

Sentence has been deferred on this case until the value of her share of the business can be established.
