A woman has been fined after fighting with a bouncer at an Inverness pub.

Leah Davis (25) appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted punching and kicking a door steward at MacCallums bar on the city's Union Street on April 9 last year.

Davis, of Longmoor Crescent, Elgin, was being escorted out the premises after "disruptive behaviour" when she kicked off at door staff, said fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh.

She punched the man in the head then kicked him on the body.

After police were called she was taken to Burnett Road station where she acted in an aggressive manner by shouting and swearing.

Defence agent Patrick O'Dea said his client was not a regular drinker of alcohol and that she was "absolutely mortified" by her behaviour.

Davis, a full-time student, was fined £200 with a £10 victim surcharge.
