Elderly person treated following bungalow fire near Inverness

An elderly resident suffered smoke inhalation following a small fire at a bungalow on the Black Isle in the early hours of today.

The incident, in a bedroom at a property in Drumsmittal Road, North Kessock, happened at 4.45am.

The person, who was described as having suffered slight smoke inhalation, was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Two fire appliances from Inverness attended the scene. The fire was reported to be out at 5.48am.
