MSP Edward Mountain continues his drive to gather signatures to back his campaign to replace Raigmore hospital.

Highland MSP Edward Mountain has taken his campaign to replace Raigmore with a brand new acute general teaching hospital for the Highlands.

Mr Mountain said he has received a really warm response from the public and got at least 200 signatures for the petition at the heart of the campaign.

Speaking from his stall on Inverness High Street, Mr Mountain said all but two people were supportive of the call for a new general hospital.

It comes just a day after health secretary Michael Matheson gave the proposal a boost by admitting Raigmore is in contention for replacement or refurbishment.
