PICTURES: Curtain comes down on Eden Court's panto with best sales ever

Peter Pan flew off to Neverland when this year’s Eden Court panto finished on Sunday night.

But against the odds, in the middle of the cost of living crisis, more people than ever before have come to see this year’s panto produced by Imagine Theatre which opened on December 7.

Talking on Monday after the curtain had come down on the show for the last time, Steven Wren, who played the dame Mrs Moira McSmee, said he was delighted so many people had come to see the show this year.

“This one did feel really busy,” he said.

“So I’m not surprised if it is heading to a total of record sales.”

But on a personal note, Steven – who also directs the shows – revealed the busy last month of shows has left him with a bonus for night after night of running around during panto season.

“I’ve lost nine pounds! It’s such hard work doing the show and it’s quite exhausting.”

But it was worth it, as Steven said the brawtheatre.com website which visited and reviewed all 22 of Scotland’s pantos said “...we were the best”!
