With church congregations across Inverness unable to gather for the most important festival in the Christian calendar due to coronavirus restrictions, Easter this year will be very different.

Although the buildings may be empty, many are reporting growing online audience figures while this year the Easter messages from city church leaders are of hope and love.

Chris Dowling, co-pastor of the King's Fellowship at Smithton gives his reflection:

In these uncertain times, it might be hard to view today as a Good Friday.

Many people are fearful of what the future holds and at a time when we would normally lean on loved ones, we find ourselves separated and isolated.

But today is a Good Friday!

Today we remember the reality of Easter, a story that tells us that we are never separated or isolated from God and His love.

Jesus’ purpose was to remove every obstacle that would stop us fully experiencing God’s unconditional love and forgiveness, available to us all by putting our trust in Jesus Christ.

After Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday, he told his followers that he holds all authority over heaven and earth.

My encouragement to everyone this Easter weekend is choose to put your hope and trust in Jesus, the one who holds the world in His hands.
