A 46-YEAR-OLD Inverness man admitted he had behaved like “a drunken idiot” after being arrested by police for challenging officers and city centre door staff to a fight.

Graeme King, of Duncraig Street, was bare chested on the night of August 1, last year when he conducted himself in a disorderly manner in Church Street and Bank Street.

Fiscal depute David Morton told Inverness Sheriff Court that officers had to use their PAVA debilitating spray to pacify him.

Defence solicitor Clare Russell said: “He described himself to officers as a drunken idiot.

“His last offence was in 2017 and on this occasion he let himself down by consuming too much alcohol.”

Sheriff Robert Frazer ordered King to carry out 60 hours of unpaid community work.
