A FISHERMAN attending the Groove music festival at Dores last year was ejected from the event and charged with possession of ecstasy and mephedrone.

Christopher Ritchie (25) from Watermill Road, Fraserburgh, admitted the offence, which happened on August 18 last year.

Depute fiscal Susan Love said police found Ritchie in possession of eight ecstasy tablets and white powder later identified as mephedrone.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald said she took into account it was a relatively small amount and fined him £480.
