Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald heard the case at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Police on mobile patrol were suspicious when they saw a 20-year-old man enter a car in an Inverness housing estate and then get out a few yards down the road.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that when they tried to question Marcus Concannon after seeing him in Suilven Way, Inverness, he made off.

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair said the officers were able to apprehend him and "he smelt strongly of cannabis". When he was searched, he had cash, a phone, a box and a list of contacts in his possession.

Mrs Gair said Concannon, of Noehill Road, Sheffield, also had £2119 in cash. She added: "In the box were wraps of brown and white powder. One had 25.5 grams of heroin and the other 14.8 grams of cocaine, with a total value of £3100."

He admitted two charges of being concerned in the supply of drugs on July 30, 2022.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald placed Concannon under two years of social work supervision and ordered him to have drug treatment.

She said: "It is now time to grow up. You did not give a thought for the consequences which was the possibility of jail. I am hopeful you can move away from this kind of behaviour. If you don't, you will go to jail."
