A DRUG dealer sympathised with police who raided his home and found £5000 worth of cannabis.

After they searched his property in St Mary’s Road, Kirkhill, on November 22 last year William Mackenzie (42) told officers: “Bet it’s not the result you hoped for boys – half a result.”

Mackenzie admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court to being concerned in the supply of the class B drug.

Sentence was deferred until Christmas Eve for a background report and Mackenzie, who did not appear in court this week, had his bail continued.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told the court that police had received intelligence about Mackenzie’s activities and obtained a search warrant.

The search also uncovered scales with an amount of cannabis on them and two carrier bags containing the drug in the kitchen.

When interviewed by police Mackenzie told officers that the drugs were for his own personal use and low level supply within his own social circle.
