Drug dealer caught in Inverness with cocaine and heroin worth nearly £5000

Police were carrying out a surveillance operation and caught a drug dealer in an area of waste ground in Inverness.

Benjamin Henderson (29) from Lochgilphead, was seen discarding a package in an area of waste ground in Thornbush Road, Inverness on December 21 last year.

It was recovered by police and found to contain wraps of heroin and cocaine.

A total of 28 grams of heroin were recovered, divided into four wraps, and a single wrap of cocaine weighing 6.93 grams.

Henderson was then observed by police driving into South Kessock Street ,where he was stopped.

He and other occupants of his vehicle were detained and a search of the vehicle revealed further quantities of cocaine.

Depute fiscal David Morton told Sheriff Chris Dickson at Inverness Sheriff Court that a total of 40.76 grams of cocaine were recovered along with 28 grams of heroin, with a potential joint value of around £4900.

Sentence was deferred until January 17 for criminal justice background reports and a restriction of liberty assessment.
