Police on mobile patrol passed a motorist who looked nervous when he saw the officers.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 43-year-old Fraser Plaice, of Varrich Crescent, Inverness raised their suspicions and they decided to stop him.

Fiscal depute Alison Young said they caught up with Plaice, in Torbreck Road, just after he had got into a taxi.

The cab was stopped and Mrs Young said: "A suitcase was found and inside it was a sealable bag with 24.99 grams of a white powder."

Plaice, who is currently serving a sentence, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine on March 9, 2022.

Mrs Young said the drugs were worth between £1920 and £2400. A sum of money – £546.39 – was also found in Plaice's possession.

The drugs and money were confiscated by Sheriff Sara Matheson.

Sentence was deferred until August 29 for a background report and a restriction of liberty order assessment.
