A man confessed to police in Inverness that he had just sold £70 worth of cannabis to a man being searched by police.

Nathan Tonner (21) of Oldtown Road, Inverness admitted being concerned in the supply of the drug in the city's Temple Crescent on September 15.

Depute fiscal Roderick Urquhart told Sheriff Margaret Neilson at Inverness Sheriff Court that police came across Tonner in the company of another person.

They searched that individual and found two sealed bags containing cannabis.

But the fiscal said the accused was also searched and he volunteered that he had just dropped the drugs off to the other person who confirmed that he had bought the drugs for £70.

Tonner was fined £400.
