An Inverness man has admitted supplying cocaine and cannabis in the Highland capital.

Police attended at Fraser Plaice’s home due to unrelated road traffic matters but later carried out a raid due to suspicions that he was dealing drugs.

Two mobile phones were seized in the raid on April 29, 2019 and were found to contain messages mentioning various slang names for cannabis and prices for various amounts of drugs.

Plaice, of Aignish Drive, admitted being concerned in the supply of the class B drug between August 24, 2018 and April 29, 2019, when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Messages were also later found on another phone mentioning the supply of cocaine including a “deal” with three grams for £250.

The 33-year-old admitted being concerned in the supply of the class A drug on January 25, 2020, the date when the messages were recovered by police.

Finally he also admitted driving while under the influence of cannabis on February 28, 2020, after being stopped by police on the city’s Culduthel Avenue.

He was found to have three micrograms of the drug in his system.

The legal limit is two micrograms.

Sheriff Sara Matheson deferred sentence until February 3 for the preparation of background reports and to check Plaice’s suitability for a drug testing and treatment order.

Plaice was disqualified from driving in the interim and released on bail.
