Drug addict who broke into city hostel is given a second drug treatment and testing order following hearing at Inverness Sheriff Court

A drug user who beat his habit for a few months was given a second drug treatment and testing order assessment after returning to his life of crime.
Warren Maclean was released on bail from remand at Inverness Sheriff Court following an appeal by his defence lawyer, Shahid Latif.
Sentence had been deferred previously for an initial assessment in custody on the 44-year-old.
Mr Latif successfully persuaded Sheriff Sara Matheson to allow his client his liberty to complete the second stage.
Maclean, now of Academy Street, Inverness, will reappear in court on February 11.
Previously, the court heard that Maclean broke into student hostel accommodation in Culduthel Road, Inverness between September 19 and 20 last year, with intent to steal.
He admitted the offence and also pleaded guilty to possessing scissors without reasonable excuse.
The court was told Maclean had moved to Aberdeen but returned to Inverness when he was in danger of being lured back into drugs.
Defence solicitor advocate Shahid Latif said his client, who admitted a long list of previous convictions, had remained drug-free from March to September but on returning to the Highland capital was given a Xanax tablet, a type of strong Valium not prescribed in this country.
He was discovered in the hostel by a caretaker who had earlier also noted a safe being open and other items having been moved around.
They flagged down a passing police car, and officers arrested Maclean.
The scissors were found on him when he was searched.
