A DRUG addict has been placed on a treatment order for 12 months.

But sheriff David Sutherland warned Nadia Neary if she breaches it she could go to jail for up to four years for offences she has committed.

Sentence had been deferred for reports on Neary (36), of Church Street, Inverness.

She had admitted a range of offences at Inverness Sheriff Court dating back to November last year and 2017 including possession of cocaine, shoplifting, assault and breach of the peace.

Sheriff Sutherland heard that Neary had a chequered offending history and had been the subject of a previous drug treatment order as well as a community payback order.

Despite this social workers felt she was a suitable candidate for a second drug treatment order.
