DRAMATIC video footage of a fire which gutted a major Inverness city centre shop and forced the closure of several streets has emerged.

The video captures the height of the blaze at M&Co in Academy Street late on Wednesday evening.

At its height eight fire crews battled with the flames, which licked high into the air over the city centre.

Crews used two aerial platforms, numerous hose reels and breathing apatus to tackle the inferno.

Academy Street, Church Street, Union Street, Banks Street, and Falcon Square were all closed to traffic as a result of the fire.
