WATCH: Drag night fundraiser raises the roof of popular Inverness bar

DRAG stars put on a spectacular show in Inverness, in aid Highland Pride.

The event last Friday at The Botanic House raised just under £800.

After being postponed as a result of Covid restrictions Inverness is set to see the return of its very own Pride gathering on June 11, organised by Highland Pride.

For the drag event local favourite Venus GuyTrap and a clutch of other performers entertained an audience with song, dance and comedy.

Chairwoman of Highland Pride, Jess Taylor, said: “"Our Drag Night Fundraiser was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our community during LGBT History Month after nearly two years of not being able to hold events in person!

"The audience were entertained by an electric performance from Venus GuyTrap and drag friends Bobbie Tucker, Idah Dunim and Joe Kelly.

"Special thanks to The Botanic House for letting us host the event, Household DJs for the amazing music, and Claire Carson for the glitter and face painting bar!

"And another special thanks also to everyone who came along and supported us, we really do appreciate it."

Summer Pride will see a parade from Falcon Square to the Northern Meeting Park for speeches and live entertainment with food and craft stalls lasting all day.
