From May 1-7, teams will undertake a virtual Lands End to John O’Groats journey to fundraise for three charities - Calum's Cabin, The Archie Foundation and Young Lives Versus Cancer.

They are aiming to include as many as possible, and encourage people to undertaken it in their own way and their own time.

The current teams are colleagues of Cairn, friends and family of Cairn, Fairfield Medical Practice, and soon to be a patients of Cairn team.

Each team has to reach the 843 mile target but can do so in any way, from a 1km walk to a 10 minute swim or by including a more stationary activity like yoga.

Participants have already been setting their challenges for the event from May1-7.

Dr Anne Rennie, partner at Cairn Medical Practice and organiser of the challenge said: “We would love for as many teams as possible to get involved. Perhaps you are a local business or medical practice that think you can beat our practice team?!

"We are all in need of some positivity and improved wellbeing this year. So go on, get involved!”

Dr Ronald MacVicar, retired GP of Cairn Medical Practice, said: “A small group of us have decided to drop the ‘virtual’ tag and will be cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats over about 10 days, aiming to complete the journey on Saturday 7th May, the same day as the virtual teams complete theirs.

"We anticipate that the cycle will be hard work but fun-filled, and are delighted to contribute to the Cairn Charity Challenge”
