FANS of a reality TV show set in a Highland castle are being urged to come forward if interested in stepping up to take part in the global hit.

Producers of The Traitors confirmed at the end of February that there will be another series and flagged an application process for would-be contestants.

A team of players – most 'faithfuls' but in their midst some specially chosen 'traitors' – compete in a series of missions to secure a share of a prize pot of £120,000.

The intrigue unfolds in and around Ardross Castle in Easter Ross.

UK and American series have already been filmed there, the former hosted by Claudia Winkleman and the latter by Alan Cumming.

The fan account related to the show today tweeted an appeal to anyone keen to be part of the next show to come forward and complete the application process.

There's a deadline of July 31.

It posted: "REMINDER: Applications for #TheTraitorsUK Series 2 are STILL open.

"If you're interested or know of someone that is, please visit the link below and get started with your application today."

The Traitors, produced for the BBC by Studio Lambert Associates, has now issued a call for would be participants in series 2.

Applicants need to be 18 or over and the closing date is July 31.

Applicants are being told they must be available to take part in the programme for up to six weeks "currently anticipated to be in summer / autumn 2023", although it adds: "Please note that this may change at our discretion without notice."

The Traitors was the biggest new series for young audiences across all BBC titles last year, and the highest rating new entertainment series on the BBC since at least 2017 for young audiences.

Claudia Winkleman, said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.”
