Emergency services have been called to Aviemore following an incident on the Highland main line.

ScotRail have announced that the 18:53 Inverness to Edinburgh due to arrive in the capital at 22:26 has been terminated at Aviemore.

Police and ambulance services have been in attendance this evening.

ScotRail confirmed the service will no longer call at Kingussie, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Birnam, Perth, Stirling, Haymarket and Edinburgh.

"This is due to a person being hit by a train."
