MORE than 30 bus journeys have been cancelled today on one Inverness service amidst and ongoing issue with drivers shortages.

Stagecoach Highland has announced that service 3 journeys will suffer cancellations across the day, with several services on the 4A, 4C, 7 and 8 lines also being canceled.

Other services will likely experience disruption and delays, and bus users are encouraged to check for updates on the bus company's app.

This comes after months of struggles for the firm to recruit new drivers for their fleet across the Highlands.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach Highlands said: "We have welcomed 18 new drivers for Inverness, Tain and Aviemore to the Stagecoach team since June 1, with a further five already progressing through our training school. It's vital to take the time to ensure all new drivers reach the high level of professional standards we expect. That means those new drivers may not be out on the road for some weeks.

"We are still actively recruiting in the Inverness area. To apply for one of our vacancies, please visit our website or email your CV to highlandscareers@stagecoach.com."
