Community appeal after Reelig Glen gate vandalised for second time at An Leacainn

Information is being sought after a gate was deliberately damaged at Reelig Glen south west of Inverness.

Kirkhill and Bunchrew Community Council shared a picture of the gate and an appeal on social media.

The appeal said: "Sadly someone has decided for a second time to vandalise the gate in the fence leading to the trig point at An Leacainn on Reelig Moor.

"The gate is not locked and is self closing to prevent deer accessing and damaging the trees that have been planted as part of a woodland creation scheme.

"Not only does this cause stress and financial cost, it means any deer accessing will now have to be culled.

"All the access to the hill was preserved so people can enjoy the area, so this mindless damage is very upsetting, pointless and utterly ignorant. "Please could people keep their eyes open and report any suspicious activity to the police on 101 quoting crime reference number CR/0020829/22."
