POLICE recovered heroin worth nearly £300 after carrying out a search of a woman within homeless accommodation in Inverness.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard officers visited Olivia Mackay’s room at Rossal House, Island Bank Road, on October 5 with a warrant to carry out the search.

Depute fiscal Niall Macdonald told the court that Mackay was personally searched, leading to the discovery of five bags of heroin.

A mobile phone with a text from somebody asking to purchase heroin was also found within the room, he said.

Solicitor Marc Dickson asked for reports to be called for and sentence was deferred until November 7.

Mackay (25) of Old Royal, Union Street, Inverness, admitted being concerned in the supply of the class A drug.
