Inverness Daviot House carers scoop two awards each at Meallmore's annual colleague award ceremony

Inverness Daviot House carers has won an award in recognition of their efforts prepare for the threat of wildfires and to create a positive work environment. They recieved the award at Meallmore care provider's annual Colleague Awards which celebrates their employees across Scotland.

From Daviot House, Merralee (Mel) Walker and Andrew Rodden received the Brand Ambassador Award for representing Meallmore’s company values every day, creating a positive environment and a great place to work.

As well as this, Merralee and Andrew also received a Special Recognition Award, along with Steve Gordon from Meallmore’s head office, for their response in preparing Daviot House for evacuation when wildfires threatened the home in June this year.

The Meallmore Colleague Awards, now in its 12th year, was held at the Dunblane Hydro and had over 200 people in attendance from Meallmore’s 26 care homes across Scotland.

Presented by singer and TV personality, Michelle McManus, the awards had 14 award categories, with nominations put forward by residents, residents’ families, visiting professionals and other Meallmore colleagues. In total, over a thousand submissions were put forward.

Daviot deputy manager Andrew Rodden said: “Daviot consists of wonderful colleagues, families and residents and a brilliant manager, which makes our job that much easier. We’re so humbled and appreciative for the two awards we’ve received today.”

Cillian Hennessey, managing director of Meallmore, said: “We’re extremely proud of all our colleagues and their hard work and commitment. We regularly see individuals going the extra mile in providing the highest standards of care for our residents and so this awards ceremony is a perfect opportunity to acknowledge them.

“I would personally like to say a huge thank you to every one of our colleagues at Meallmore, as they each make a real difference in the lives of our residents across Scotland. All finalists show exceptional dedication to our company, and the winners are thoroughly well-deserved."

The company provides a range of residential nursing, dementia, and mental health care across Scotland.
