That may have been the question on the minds of neutral observers on Monday, when local councillors nervously approved plans to regenerate Academy Street.
Highland Council papers for the committee meeting were absolutely gushing about the benefits of the scheme to give a new facelift to the street. The new scheme, they say, would create a city centre that was vibrant, successful and where businesses could be revived after the Covid-19 pandemic.

- The app is available for iOS and Android. Once subscribed, search for the app (HNMedia) in the Apple or Google Play store to download it. You will be able to find links to it on our website as well. Log in to your app using the email and password you have set for your subscription account.
