FANS of rock band The Alarm are in for a treat as one of its founding members will be visiting Nairn as part of his latest tour.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Dave Sharp, who was lead guitarist in the popular band, will be performing at The Havelock in Nairn on Sunday, April 9.

This will be the third time he has performed at the Nairn pub hotel, with a free entry and the show starting at 3pm.

Owner Morag Holding said the artist's return to live performing and The Havelock is very welcome.

She said: "We are delighted to have Dave Sharp returning to play at the Havelock as part of his Autumn tour.

"His voice is instantly recognisable. He has a delivery that makes even cover versions entirely his own. His personal warmth connects with his audience and turns an wonderful musical experience into a memorable event. We're very excited to have him back over Easter weekend Sunday 9 April."

The gig comes as part of a series of Scottish dates which will see the artist perform in Inverness at the Market Bar on Friday April 7 as well as Aviemore, Portsoy and Fraserburgh.

This will mark the artist's full return to live performing post Covid.

He said: "It feels great to be heading back out on the road and will be a fine thing to see everyone again after such a long time."

The artist is also preparing for a big reunion date as The Alarm's 40th anniversary concert is set to take place in Cardiff on April 15.

The artist's music ranges folk and blues to rock, country and punk.
