HIGHLAND Hospice is getting ready for a huge zipline fundraising event next month, with more places now available.

The Kessock Bridge Zipline is set to run from September 2-4, marking both the charity’s 35th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the bridge itself.

Participants will zipline 1500ft from the iconic bridge, landing in North Kessock.

More than 400 people of all ages, from 12 to over 70, have signed up so far to participate in the daringly exciting challenge.

Hospice fundraiser Emma Nicol said: “We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response when we announced this event. Saturday and Sunday’s slots were snapped up quickly, and we are so grateful to have been allowed to release further limited spaces on Friday, September 2, between 9.30am and 3pm.

“Anyone participating will be fully guided by the UK Bungee Club (UKBC) who have a 100 per cent safety record and will go through all the necessary precautions to ensure everyone remains safe but also has plenty of fun.

“We are eagerly anticipating this exciting weekend, which couldn’t happen without the support of so many companies.

“I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our main sponsors Ord Industrial and Commercial Supplies, McDonald Scaffolding, Alba Traffic Management, BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland, Highland Temporary Works Ltd, Big Bang Promotions, Morris Leslie, RNLI and Swiftwater Solutions Ltd.”

If you are interested in participating in the Friday Zipline, you can still register on their website.
