Music entertainment and stalls will be among the attractions at a family-friendly event in Inverness for an appeal to develop Scotland’s first multi-purpose centre for children and young people with severe disabilities.
The family-friendly Daisy Day taking place at Smithton Church tomorrow will raise money for the Haven Appeal.
Entertainment will include a pipe band, singing groups, Highland dancers, a ceilidh band, a eukelele band and a Gaelic singer plus stalls.
There will also be a bouncy castle, a photo booth and competitions.
The fun takes place between noon and 4 pm.
The Haven Appeal aims to raise £4 million to create the pioneering centre at a site in Murray Road, Smithton.
It was previously occupied by the Culloden Court Nursing Home but has been derelict since the building was destroyed by a fire in October 2010.
The Haven Centre will feature respite houses, a community café, specialist play centres, office and meeting spaces and a community garden..
As part of the appeal, a crowdfunding campaign with a daisy theme has been launched to raise £1.6 million specifically for specialist play facilities at the proposed centre.
Hundreds of stones featuring hand-painted daisies have been placed around the city to highlight the campaign and people and organisations are also being urged to hold events.
The appeal, suported by the Inverness Courier, has a crowdfunding page at www.gofundme.com/the-haven-appeal. More information can also be seen at www.havenappeal.org.uk.
