A DAY nursery in Culloden has passed inspection following a visit from the Care Inspectorate.

Les Enfants Nursery at Woodside of Culloden was rated “tres bien” following the unannounced inspection in December.

Privately owned Les Enfants is registered to provide care to a maximum of 95 children from newborn to 16 years of age, working in partnership with Highland Council to provide funded early learning and childcare.

An online questionnaire shared with parents and carers produced 22 responses.

The inspectors said: “All agreed or strongly agreed that they were happy with the quality of care and support their child received while in the service.

“Some comments included: ‘Nursery has been great at helping my son who has complex needs develop – he loves coming to nursery as feels safe and nurtured.’

‘Very caring and give good feedback about my child.’

‘My children are delighted to go to nursery. They are given a wide variety of activities every day.’”

From the inspection Les Enfants was graded as “very good” for quality of care and support, and “good” for quality of management and leadership.

The report stated: “The staff provided a very good service to promote positive outcomes for all children and had substantial knowledge and understanding of the individual care needs of each of the children.

“Staff were kind, caring and very nurturing. We saw some lovely interactions between staff and children, with staff responsive to the individual needs of each child.”

Regarding Covid the report said: “We were very satisfied that the service had appropriate infection control procedures in place to support a safe environment for children and staff.”
