THE popular Cromarty restaurant and deli Sutor Creek is closed temporarily after a member of staff tested positive for Covid.

The doors were closed on Monday evening, and proprietors Phoebe and Graham Fox said they are waiting for PCR test results from all their employees before they can reopen.

"Fingers crossed it won’t be long," they added in an online statement. "The health and safety of our team and customers is our priority so closing is our only option right now. Thanks for your support."

The news led to many responses of support including one from Louisa Garratt of Cromarty who posted: "All part of living in this Covid world. I've seen all the precautions you guys take - daily temp checks, mask wearing, regular flow tests, constant hand washing.

"The virus does seem to be everywhere, we keep hearing of more and more cases. Take care."
