TWO popular Inverness restaurants The Mustard Seed on the riverside, and Thai Dining in Academy Street, have closed because of Covid.

Both went on to social media to let customers know and apologise for any convenience.

And both say they are hopeful of reopening soon with the Mustard Seed planning to be back in business on Thursday July 8..

Christine at the Mustard Seed said: "Due to a number of our staff having to self isolate for 10 days we have taken the decision to close the Mustard Seed for that period to ensure the welfare of our staff and customers.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding in what is a very difficult time for hospitality businesses. We look forward to reopening on Thursday July 8 and hope that you will continue your support....we look forward to seeing you soon."

A statement from Aoom and the Thai Dining team said: "Due to a member of our staff having been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid19, we have taken the decision to close Thai Dining until all members of staff have been tested and come back with negative results.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding in what is a very difficult time. We will not be taking any bookings until we know if anyone has tested positive and will take the correct action to make sure we do not spread Covid19 to anyone else. We will hopefully see you all soon rather than later."

There is no indication of a connection between the two Covid incidents.
