Packs of Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test kits will be distributed at several Highland locations next week.

LFD tests will be available to collect or do on-site at Inverness Retail Park from Monday March 7 to Friday March 11.

They will also be available to collect in Ardersier and Nairn on Friday March 11.

The Highland Council and NHS Highland are working in partnership to increase availability of Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests throughout the Highlands.

On site staff will be present to give guidance on how to take the test.

Highland Council said the move is not due to any particular outbreak in these areas.

The mobile testing unit Testalot will be providing LFD tests to collect or do on-site at Tesco Car Park, Inverness Retail Park during the day all week.

LFD tests for anyone without symptoms will also be available to collect on Friday March 1 at Nairn High Street between 9am and mid-day and then Ardersier Memorial Hall Car Park between 1pm and 3pm.

A Highland Council spokesman said: “Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests are easy to administer. “By taking one regularly, we can help our community, families and friends stay safe and slow down the spread of coronavirus.

“Tracking down cases of the virus earlier will limit the spread of new variants.”
