Scottish Government ministers have approved Highland Council’s request to extend a one way cycle contraflow in Inverness.

It means that the Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order on Ness Walk and Bught Road, which was due to expire at 6am on Sunday, will now run until 6am on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

The measure was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic and was aimed at maintaining social distancing and ensuring public and road safety while restrictions are in place.

It has been in place since Friday, June 26, 2020 and the council is still proceeding with the legal process to make a Permanent Road Traffic Regulation Order and is currently collating representations and objections.
