Drivers can look forward to a bit of a smoother ride on the city centre street, for a while at least.
Markings round potholes in Academy Street have left many people scratching their heads over the past few days but Highland Council has now confirmed its staff is behind them.
A spokeswoman said today: "These are ongoing Highland Council road repairs which are due to be completed next week (weather dependent)."
Last month a video posted on Facebook by Inverness resident Gary Livingstone received dozens of messages of support after it showed dozens of potholes in Dunabban Road in the Merkinch area of the city.
He remained less than impressed even after repairs were carried out, saying he didn't think they were the kind of patch-ups likely to last.
"Fair play to the council for responding, but it's taken them years to do anything," he said.
