THE work of a Black Isle designer is being seen by millions at the coronation of Charles III today.

Siobhan Mackenzie is building a global reputation for her creative take on tartan with an ever-growing client list that includes A list celebrities.

Earlier this year she was invited to 10 Downing Street to meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his businesswoman wife, Akshata Murty, as part of a Burns night event showcasing the best of Scottish fashion, culture and cuisine.

And today she shared via her social media news of another high-profile client in the form of Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf's wife, Nadia El-Nakla.

The couple have been pictured at Westminster Abbey via images shared by Getty bedecked in tartan outfits.

A post shared by former Fortrose Academy pupil Ms Mackenzie says: "Nadia El-Nakla wears custom Siobhan Mackenzie to the Coronation of King Charles III.

"Nadia’s hat is created by the incredible milliner William Chambers

"Humza Yousaf, First Minister of Scotland wears Slanj and Anjali Modha."

Her post adds: "Thank you Nadia and Humza for championing Scottish design and to Chris Hunt from Scotland ReDesign for the opportunity!"

She has also memorably designed the outfits for Scotland's Commonwealth Games team, voicing 'incredible pride' over the honour.

Dundee Councillor Nadia El-Nakla wore a three-piece custom-designed look by Scottish fashion designer Siobhan Mackenzie, who started her business with support from the Princes Trust.

Nadia’s outfit is couture and was made specially for the occasion, trimmed with hand-sewn ostrich feathers, all sourced ethically within the UK, and is styled with a hat created by top Glasgow milliner William Chambers.

The outfit compromises a full-length kilt complemented with a fitted bodice & flowing cape. It is made with a merino wool & silk blend material, both natural fibres in a nod to Mackenzie’s sustainable brand ethos. The kilt includes the Spirit of Glasgow Tartan, which is exclusive to Scottish tailor Slanj, to match Humza’s stunning kilt from the Glasgow firm, worn with a jacket by Anjali Modha.
