Converged Communication Solutions and ICTFC announce cybersecurity workshop for local businesses

Converged Communication Solutions and Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC (ICTFC) are inviting sponsors, suppliers, and Highland-based companies to a cybersecurity workshop.

Taking place on Wednesday, April 14 at 9.30am at the Caledonian Stadium, the event will celebrate the continuation of the IT Partnership between Converged and ICTFC. The workshop will be followed by a stadium tour and networking lunch until 1pm.

In the face of rising cyber threats, football clubs are not immune and ICTFC recognises the critical importance of cybersecurity.

Acknowledging not all organisations have access to comprehensive advice, and in a proactive move to give back to the community, the club, in partnership with Converged, is inviting sponsors, suppliers, and Highland-based companies to a cybersecurity workshop on Highland-based businesses seeking to bolster their security posture are encouraged to register for the workshop, Your Business, Held to Ransom.

The workshop aims to enhance the region’s security, focusing on the supply chain’s resilience against potential ransomware cyber-attacks.

Robbie Ross, chief security officer at Converged, and Gavin Simpson, technical manager, will lead the workshop sharing practical insights into dealing with ransomware attacks and providing simple and accessible advice on safeguarding data.

The event will also feature guest speaker William Wright from Closed Door Security, a leading CREST-accredited penetration testing company and Scotland’s only Chartered Hacker.

Keith Haggart, ICTFC commercial director, said: “Creating long-term partnerships with established businesses such as Converged is important to ICTFC, as their knowledge and insight is hugely beneficial.

“Cybersecurity has the potential to affect us all, either in our home or work environments, so we’re delighted to join forces with Converged to further extend the delivery of cybersecurity awareness training to our sponsors, suppliers, and the wider business community. We’re looking forward to welcoming attendees to the stadium in April.”

Since the start of the partnership between ICTFC and Converged in July 2021, Converged has undertaken and managed transformative IT projects on behalf of the club, strengthening its technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and protecting it against cyber-attacks.

Over the past three years, Converged has been at the forefront of managing and enhancing ICTFC’s IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing the transition to Office 365, migrating the club’s data to secure cloud-based systems, providing continuous IT support, and implementing robust cybersecurity solutions.

These successful projects highlight Converged’s dedication to leveraging advanced technology for the club.
