Covid-19 cases in Scotland rise a further 354 to 7102, with some 184 confirmed diagnoses of the coronavirus in the NHS Highland area

ANOTHER 354 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Scotland – as the Highland number rose a further four to 184.

Some 7102 have now tested positive across Scotland since the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

And a further 80 people have sadly died.

In NHS Highland, some 60 patients were in hospital with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 at midnight last night, with six of them being treated in intensive care.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, Shetland, Eileanan Siar and Orkney's confirmed case numbers remained static for the second day in a row, with just 45, six and five confirmed infections respectively.

NHS Grampian, meanwhile, recorded a further 32 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, taking its total to 389. Some 86 people are receiving treatment in its hospitals for the virus, of whom 16 are in intensive care.

And in NHS Tayside there were another 39 cases, taking its total to 937. A total of 118 people were receiving treatment in its hospitals, with six in intensive care.
