A full-service marketing company is so confident the area is economically buoyant it has expanded its workforce.

Adder Business has taken on four more staff in recent months, growing the workforce by 25% as it looks to the future with confidence.

This, says Adder, is against a backdrop of significant marketing growth nationally and predictions of buoyancy in the Highland economy.

The latest recruit is graphic design lead Thomas Moir who has more than 25 years experience in the Highlands’ marketing and advertising sector.

He said his role would be to "up the ante" and enable the company to tender for larger wins.

Thomas, who has worked with organisations such as HIE, SNH and UHI, and who designed the North Coast 500 website, said: “I am delighted to join the dynamic team at Adder and I am confident we will be able to offer clients something different going forward.

“For example, I am looking to sharpen the focus on brand development for existing clients and help them and new clients make bolder statements.”

Adder business managing director Abbie McCahill said: “It’s a real coup for us getting Thomas on board and his invaluable experience will enable us to build on and enhance the suite of services we can offer, widening our scope of potential clients.

“Inverness is really buoyant just now and we have been building our team incrementally to enable us to provide added value and serve our clients to an even higher level.”

There are almost one million people who work in the marketing industry in the UK – a significant slab of the 33 million people in the country who have jobs - and the demand for marketing services led to Adder moving to city centre premises more than a year ago.

It immediately paid dividends with a rise of 30% in business shortly after the move to state-of-the-art premises in Moray House, Bank Street, and the acquisition of a number of new, high-profile clients.

Previously the award-winning business, which started in 2015, operated from offices in Tore, Ross-shire and Inverness.

Abbie, who has worked for more than 15 years in the marketing industry, said: “Inverness is buzzing at the moment and optimism is in the air, especially with the advent of projects such as the Inverness and Cromarty Green Freeport, and businesses of all sizes are looking to market themselves effectively.

“The fact that local companies want to do business with other companies on their doorstep is beneficial for the regional economy and we are all experiencing the feel good effect of that.

“It also increases healthy competition and means we all have to keep

improving to stay ahead of the game and capitalise on the fantastic

opportunities that are arising.

“Marketing is certainly a major growth industry, and we are always on the lookout for talented individuals like Thomas to join our team.”
