A ROSS-SHIRE distillery will be organising an whisky tasting event to raise vital funds with a social care charity.

Taking place at Bogbain Farm in Inverness on June 17 this year, the A Midsummer Night’s Dram event will focus on GlenWyvis Distillery’s inaugural release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with tastings and an auction of bottle number one.

All money raised through the event and charity auction will help Cornerstone support 1,800 people across Scotland with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. The event will include a three-course meal and entertainment by Highland Fire Ceilidh.

“With our first whisky being released at the end of last year, we’re really excited to finally share it at an event with our members and fellow whisky lovers, alongside representatives from our wonderful charity partner for the event, Cornerstone,” explained Matthew Farmer, GlenWyvis Distillery Manager.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dram will be a real celebration of the community spirit of GlenWyvis. Our inaugural release whisky is the first to be produced in Dingwall in almost a century, so this celebration has been a long time coming! I look forward to a great night of whisky, food and music – all while raising funds for Cornerstone.”

Julia Smith, Public Fundraising Manager at Cornerstone, said: “Cornerstone enables people across Scotland with disabilities to live their best possible lives. And it’s through events like A Midsummer Night’s Dram that we can continue to deliver services to those who need it.

“We’re delighted to partner with GlenWyvis Distillery for the event and look forward to raising a dram with you all!”
