A Nairnshire inn and restaurant will be hosting a community celebration for St Andrew’s Day.

The 1645 Inn in Auldearn is inviting locals and visitors to mark the day – and enjoy a look round its newly refurbished areas – with canapes and a wee dram on arrival.

General manager Claire Turnbull said: “Everyone is welcome.

“We are looking forward to welcoming people in to look around – our whisky room has been newly refurbished as well as our newly refurbished bistro that is a beautiful restaurant and bar area.

“There will also be whisky tasting demonstrations as well as a Gaelic choir singing some songs for our guests, keeping it as traditionally Scottish as we can.

“We will be happy to show guests around the rooms and the whole establishment.”

The event will start at 6.30pm on Thursday.

Anyone wishing to attend can call 01667 452456 or reach out on the inn’s Facebook page.
