A year-long driving ban and a fine of £400 has been imposed on a cocaine-fuelled factory worker who was caught by police driving erratically through Inverness.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Daniel Redmond (32) came to the attention of police in the early hours of February 12 this year while they were on mobile patrol.

He was pulled over just after midnight on the B861 in the Newton of Leys area.

A roadside test carried out at that time showed that he had a quantity of cocaine in his system.

He was found to have 151micrograms of the class A drug in his system per litre of blood.

The legal limit is 10mg.

He was also found to be in possession of an undisclosed quantity of the class A drug itself.

Redmond, of Kintail Crescent in the city, was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He was also fined a total of £400.
