An Inverness woman has been banned from the roads for more than a year after being found with traces of cocaine in her system while behind the wheel.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Stacey Robertson (37) had taken the drug the previous day and thought she was fit to drive.

But when police had reason to pull her over on June 16 last year they noted she was acting unusual.

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair said Robertson seemed "talkative" and had an "increased level of confidence" as well as red eyes.

A drugs test was carried out and she was found to have 284 micrograms of cocaine metabolites in her system.

The legal driving limit is 50 micrograms.

Robertson admitted driving under the influence on Kessock Avenue, Kessock Road and Lochalsh Road.

Defence agent Mhyrin Hill said: "She had taken cocaine the previous day and thought she was okay to drive."

Sheriff David Harvie said: "That's a very high reading."

He disqualified Robertson, of Woodside Place, Westhill, from driving for 14 months and fined her £500.
